Holiday Card Class

Join me for my upcoming card class!!!!  On November 29th at 6:30 at Bayers Pampered Stamper we will be making four cards using two Our Daily Bread stamp sets.

These are great cards to send to friends and family for the Holiday!  The class cost is only $15!!  If you cannot make it, you can still purchase the card kits.  Just contact Melissa at Bayer's Pampered Stamper (for store info see bottom of the blog).
Hope to see you at class!

Demo Night at Bayer's

This past Tuesday I was the demo teacher at Bayer's Pampered Stamper.  I decided to show off some awesome things that can be done with punches, mostly circle and square punches.  Here are some of the cards I made:

I love this card.  I used a square punch and used a 6X6 matching pack of paper (my favorite kind of patterned paper to have:).  Once I attached the squares to a mat of colored paper I ran them through the Big Shot with an embossing folder.  So easy and equals an awesome card!!

This is my favorite card.  I love making creatures with my punches and this is a super easy creature to make:)  The spider only needs two circle punches of different sizes.  Punch the two circles and you have a spider.  I used coordinating paper (from a 6X6 pack of course:)  I drew the legs and added googly eyes (another favorite of mine!)

To many papercrafters punches are 'old school' when we have such great tools like the Cricut.  But I love my punches and use them all the time!!!  They are actually in my top 5 favorite tools list!  So for those of you that have punches packed away...pull them out and check out all the great things that you can make:)

November Stamp Club

We had a great time at Stamp Club this month.  We made two projects, a card and a scrapbook page.  Both were set for the Holidays.
This is the page we made.  I love the tree.  We used the new Festival of Prints Pack from the Holiday SU catalog.  The paper and designs in this pack are my favorite (at least for now!)  We also used the 7/8" cotton ribbon.  It was so easy to stamp on!!!  I used the Border Banter Stamp set on it!  Super fun!

We also made a card that holds a gift card.  This purse was made with the same set of design paper as the page and I used the Top Note Die.  I love the Top Note Die! It is my absolute favorite die for the BigShot!

Everybody loved these two projects!

Christmaas Owl

I love special requests.  They can be so challenging and fun!

A friend, and fellow consultant, requested a make a holiday owl for her.  She sells awesome jewelry for a company called Origami Owl, which is why she wanted a fun treat to give customers that incorporated both the owl and the holidays.

This is the owl I have come up with.  And she loved it!!!  I think my new favorite SU punch is the owl punch.  He is so darn cute!!!!

If you would like a peppermint patty owl, you should check out the great Origami Owl jewelry!!!!

October Stamp Club

If you missed stamp club this weekend you missed your opportunity to make these two beautiful cards!
We had a blast making these.
The flower card has an extra special two step stamping process with ink as the first step and shimmer paint as the second. Love that shimmery look. For the second card we were able to experiment with the new punch packs . They just add a fun touch to the card.
Maybe you can join us next time...

Did you miss Stamp Club???

If you missed Stamp Club last night, you missed a lot of fun and laughs, plus creating two awesome paper crafts!  Almost all of the club members made it last night, plus we gained a new member...welcome Judy!!!  We had a great time last night!  Plus we made two paper crafts using the Stampin' Up!* paper flowers.  The paper flowers are great and easy to use!
This was our first project.  We made an adorable box using the Floral District designer paper and clear window sheets.  Then using four paper flowers and a little craft glue we created a great 3 dimensional flower for the top of the box!  This box came out super cute!!!

This card was our second project.  We used white SU cards and a little paper from the Floral District designer paper.  As well as Baja Breeze, Primrose Petals,  and So Saffron ink plus the Just Believe stamp set.  This card featured how easy it is to stamp directly on to the paper flowers.  Simple yet elegant!!!
We would love to have you join us for our next stamp club!!!  Dates will be posted to my blog soon!!!

Buckeyes and Wolverines

Tis the season...college football has begun!

I love this season for those chilly Saturdays where we eat chili and watch OSU win:)  I also love making my OSU and UM items!!!  There is so much wonderful college scrapbook paper and embellishments out there and I have created some really fun items with these!

These are something new I have started making this year.  They are clip magnets, using regular size clothespins!  Perfect for the fridge!
This is a set of a variety of desktop and office items.  They can include anything from clip magnets, stand up photo clips, journals, mini notebooks, post it stands and more (sometimes I even add candy!)  Everyone loves these!
I love making this fun college stuff, and I am very partial to how awesome the OSU items are!!!!!  Every desk should be decorated with these great items!
Have fun stampin!!!

My next card class is ready to go!!!  It features 3 stamp sets by Inky Antics.  These sets all feature Benton Bear...and he is a cutie!!!!  I am not usually a big bear fan, I like elephants, kitties, and hedgehogs for some odd reason.  But, I fell in love with Benton and knew I must do share him with others!

This class is on Thursday, August 30th at Bayer's Pampered Stamper at 6:30.  The cost is only $15!!  I hope you will join us.  Not only does the class feature Benton Bear, but we will be using all types of fun mediums, including colored pencils and Gamsol, Crystal Effects, metallic paper, Stickles, and even a stapler!!!!

Happy Birthday!

My friend Amy had a birthday a week ago and I wanted to make her a special card...especially since she drove all the way to Toledo from Lancaster to hang out at my Stampin' Up!* Open House.
I absolutely love this card!  I used a variety of items including Close to my Heart, Stampin' Up!*  and more! I actually bought the tags at an awesome paper store in Cleveland called Hollo's Paper.  I think I bought like 500 tags for $3.00 or something ridiculously cheap!  I love finding deals like that!

Demo Night

Have you checked out Tuesday Demo Night at Bayer's Pampered Stamper???  If not, you need to!  Each Tuesday one of the teachers demos a technique to use in card making or scrapbooking.

This past Tuesday, Bev demoed a technique using glossy paper and a lit candle that created a smokey background that you can stamp on.  So easy and so cool!!!

The week before I did a demo.  My demo used foam dimensional adhesives and Perfect Pearls and Glitter Ritz to create my own embellishments for my cards.  This was another super easy technique and it came out awesome!

All I did was take the cover off of the adhesive squares I wanted to use and rub the Perfect Pearls or the Glitter Ritz right on the squares.  The Perfect Pearls went on best with a soft brush (I used a paintbrush).  Then I rubbed it in with my fingers.  I simply poured the Glitter Ritz on, shook off the excess, and then rubbed them in with my fingers.  Like I said so simple and yet the end result is awesome!!!

Hope to see you at a demo night soon!

Baby Shower Card

Just a few weeks ago I went to a baby shower and this is the card I made for it:

I used a new to me technique for papercrafting that looks like quilting.  I thought it would be really hard yet it was really easy:)
I will be using it again!

Quilting Card Class

Hello Fellow Card Makers!

I have another card class ready to go and I hope to see you there!

In this class we will be making four cards using quilting techniques and paper (instead of fabric).  One of these cards will even use the very cool and fun Shimmery Sheets!

This class will be at 6:30 on July 26th, 2012 at Bayer's Pampered Stamper in Toledo, Ohio (see below for the address and information on how to register for this class.  The cost is only $15 and I do all the cutting for you!

I love the colors in this one!  The reds and blues are so awesome!

I love making these cards.  I thought it would be so hard but really it is super easy!!!

This one more pink and purple then I would usually use, but the ladies at Bayer's love those colors!

These shimmer sheets are very fun and easy to work with.  When I started this card I did not think I would like it, but I love the finished project!

Hopefully I will see you at the class!

Using the scraps

I have been working the last week like crazy on cards!  I just finished the cards for my next card class (will post soon) and had a scrap piece from the BigShot that I thought was kind of neat.  Plus I cut two hearts out of the BigShot that were 2 small so I made bigger ones for my card class card.  So......I made a card with the scraps from that one card.  So fun!!!

Here is the card from my class...

Here is the card I made with the scraps...
I was pretty excited to use the scraps.  I hate throwing any piece of paper away!

No Work for Me

Hi!  I just wanted to share what my kitties do when I try to be creative.  I currently have four kitties.  They all are very loveable and love when they get attention.  The following pics are of my newest kitty named Beau.  He has been living with is for almost two months.  Many evenings when I sit down to start creating this is what he does...

When he gets bored of laying on my project he moves to my lap...actually he isn't a lap cat, he prefers to sit right on my chest:

How is a girl to get anything done?????

Paper Molding

On Tuesday I had a demo night at the local scrapbook store, Bayer's Pampered Stamper.  I demoed a paper molding technique using toilet paper.  I was so excited about how neat the technique is and the way the cards turned out!
This technique is super simple too.  I used o few rubber stamps that have good grooves on them and layered 8 pieces of 1-ply toilet paper onto them.  Between each layer I used a stencil brush to put water over the entire piece of toilet paper covering the stamp.
This is what my molds looked like when I had all eight wet layers on the stamp.  I then let these dry overnight.  When I took them off the stamp and flipped them over there was an awesome imprint of the stamp!!!
Then using different mediums I decorated them and made cards!

These are the four cards I made..
On the Christmas card above I used Dew Drop Brilliance ink and a finger dauber to color the leaves.  I used red Candi dots for the holly.  The image looks so much neater in person.
On this friendship card I used the Perfect Pearl Mists by Ranger in Forever Violet to color the flower.  Again..looks so awesome in person.
This is my favorite!!!  In this one, I used the Dew Drop Brilliance Ink and a finger dauber for the green and purple on the flowers and leaves and large adhesive pearls from Stampin' Up!*.  To ensure the edges of the toilet paper mold were not going to fray I sealed them with Mod Podge.

I am really glad I used this technique for my demo...now on for  anew technique hunt for my next demo:)
